Hello

We're the Elmers—the family behind Mercy Lane Dogs.

Life in our home is full in every sense of the word. With a big family and a deep love for dogs, our days are busy, joyful, and centered around raising both our children and our puppies with care, intention, and a whole lot of love.

Our dogs aren’t a “program” to us—they’re part of our everyday life. We believe that's what makes us different.

Over the years, this journey has stretched us, refined us, and taught us more than we ever expected. We’ve learned to hold tightly to what matters most: doing things the right way, caring deeply for our animals, and treating people with honesty and kindness. Through every challenge, our commitment has only grown stronger.

West Cobb has been home to our family for most of our lives, and it’s a privilege to meet so many wonderful people through what we do. We don’t take lightly the trust it takes to bring a puppy into your home, and we’re here to help make that thoughtful and personal.

We don’t rush placements, and we truly value getting to know the families who come to us. Our goal is simple: to help you find the right puppy for your home—and to raise puppies that are ready to thrive in it.

We’re so glad you’re here, and we’d love to meet you.

Our Story

I always loved “other people’s dogs.” When I grew up, our neighbors in the house behind ours had a black lab named Molly. She loved to run and play, and she was always full of energy. I would dog sit for them whenever they left town, and I enjoyed seeing Molly and playing with her. But I always thought it would be too much work to have my own dog. I could enjoy other people’s dogs, but I didn’t want to clean up big messes or vacuum up dog hair.

Fast forward to adulthood, my oldest daughter starts reading about dogs…and can’t stop talking about them. She tells us she wants a dog, it’s her lifelong wish, but I say no. After all, I still prefer other people’s dogs. Her mother gives her a great idea…why don’t you pray for a dog? So she does…and lo and behold, I discovered that it’s not just other people’s dogs I can love.

I still had some ground rules. No big messes, not too much barking, no shedding. After some searching, we discovered mixed poodle breeds. Cavapoos and Havapoos are smaller dogs, with the intellect and non-shedding properties of a poodle, and the cuteness of the Cavalier or Havenese. Well, my daughter got her first Cavapoo, and we’ve been a dog family ever since.

Dogs have brought so much joy to our lives, and here we now are, years later...with a dream and a mission to make that same thing happen for YOUR family. We feel blessed and honored to be apart of your story.
